TSA 2009 Honor Awards Announced - Jul 29, 2009
The Texas Society of Architects has announced this year’s Honor Award recipients. The awards recognize significant contributions to the architectural profession and the quality of the built environment and will be presented during the 70th Annual TSA Convention, Oct. 22-24, in Houston.
• The Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Honor of Llewellyn W. Pitts FAIA will be presented to Carolyn S. Peterson, FAIA, of San Antonio. This honor recognizes a lifetime of distinguished leadership and dedication in architecture and community.
• The TSA Architecture Firm Award will be presented to PageSoutherlandPage in honor of its significant contributions to the architectural profession and the community.
• The Award for Young Professional Achievement in Honor of William W. Caudill FAIA will be presented to Paul A. Bielamowicz, AIA, of Austin.
• The Award for Community Service in Honor of James D. Pfluger FAIA will be presented to Craig Reynolds, FAIA, of Dallas.
• The Award for Outstanding Educational Contributions in Honor of Edward J. Romieniec FAIA will be presented to Sue Ann Pemberton, AIA, of the University of Texas at San Antonio.
• Tiffany Robinson Long, AIA, of Marmon Mok in San Antonio, has been named Associate Member of the Year.
• The Award for Excellence in the Promotion of Architecture through the Media in Honor of John G. Flowers Honorary AIA:
The AIA Dallas publication Transformations: The Architects, Buildings, and Events that Shaped Dallas Architecture by Marcel Quimby, FAIA; Dennis Stacy, FAIA; and Willis Winters, FAIA.
Lawrence Holdren Connolly, AIA, for his service as a contributing editor for Texas Architect and The Shape of Texas.
• Gary Dunn, Assoc. AIA, of Kirksey in Houston, will receive the TSA Associate Mentorship Award.
• TSA will award a Citation of Honor to the following organizations:
City of Dallas Parks and Recreation and the National Audubon Society for The Trinity River Audubon Center.
San Antonio Botanical Society and San Antonio Botanical Garden for the “Terrific Tree Houses” exhibit.
